TUMO is a new kind of educational experience at the intersection of technology and design.
At TUMO, teens take charge of their own learning, gaining cutting-edge skills in the fields that matter today Teens combine self-learning activities, workshops and learning labs, picking and choosing from whatever piques their interest.
learning targets
Workshops are led by specialists across TUMO’s 10 learning targets.
They range from beginner to advanced and culminate in individual or team projects. Each project is published to the participant’s portfolio and is sometimes submitted to competitions and festivals, or published online and on app stores.
music
The TUMO Music Workshop introduces students to the idea that music is an organized sound that can convey feelings and emotions rather than just noise. Music can be predictable, but students will learn how to break patterns in order to keep their tracks interesting.
In Level 1 of this workshop series, students will explore the concepts of beats, bars, rhythm, and the structure of music.
In Level 2, they’ll learn about regularity and symmetry in music, as well as how to use scales and chords to convey specific emotions. They’ll also explore a variety of genres and learn how they each create regularity in different ways.
3D modeling
The TUMO 3D Modeling Workshop immerses students in the multifaceted world of 3D design, emphasizing both hard surface and organic modeling. This workshop focuses on developing a deep understanding of 3D space, encouraging students to manipulate and create complex models that serve various functions and aesthetics. By exploring these two core aspects of 3D modeling, the workshop aims to develop students’ technical skills and allow them to pursue their creative vision, preparing them for diverse challenges in industries like gaming, animation, and virtual reality.
In Level 1, students focus on hard-surface, low-poly modeling, creating stylized houses and environments.
In Level 2, they transition to organic modeling, using digital sculpting techniques to develop 3D characters.
animation
The TUMO Animation workshop is designed to teach students about movement and how animation can bring still images to life and serve as an effective tool for storytelling and addressing important topics. The workshop will focus on 2D frame-by-frame animation and its fundamental role in the filmmaking process.
In Level 1, students will learn the basics of animation by creating scenes involving a bouncing ball.
In Level 2, they’ll dive deeper into the world of animation by creating their own characters and showing their personalities through animation.
drawing
At the core of TUMO's Drawing workshop lies the essence of character and environment creation.
In Level 1, students explore the art of bringing characters to life across various mediums and genres. Level 1 covers basic color theory and the significance of color palette in character development.
Level 2 builds on these skills by introducing students to environment building for the characters created in Level 1. This is where they’ll learn even more about color theory, texture application, lighting, and composition, which are all vital when it comes to creating immersive and captivating settings. Through hands-on experience with Adobe Photoshop, students will gain the tools they need to translate their creative ideas into compelling visual narratives.
filmmaking
At the heart of TUMO's Filmmaking workshop is the art of telling visual stories and crafting compelling narratives. We guide students to understand that in film, it's not just about telling the audience the story but showing it.
In Level 1, we dive into the magic of silent movies, where students practice telling stories without words and learn how to show and not tell.
Moving to Level 2, they explore parallel editing and gain a deeper understanding of the nuances of storytelling.
game development
The goal of the TUMO Game Development workshop is to teach students how to create playable, complex 3D games that are focused on player experience. Through a combination of level design and coding, the workshop encourages students to think critically about how players navigate and interact with their games. This fosters a deep understanding of game development, where students not only learn level creation and coding but also how to design compelling game experiences that keep players engaged and invested in the gameplay.
In Level 1, students focus on the fundamentals of level design and player navigation, learning how to guide players through game worlds using design principles.
In Level 2, they shift toward the logic and mechanics behind gameplay, using a basic level of programming that is sufficient to create interactive systems, obstacles, collectibles, and NPCs.
graphic design
The Graphic Design workshop at TUMO emphasizes the role that shapes play in visual communication.
Level 1 is focused on creating complex objects using basic shapes.
By Level 2, participants delve into advanced aspects of graphic design including grid structures and utilizing color to establish brand identity. This workshop aims to introduce students to the art of manipulating shapes to communicate compelling visual messages.
photography
The TUMO Photography Workshop focuses on the concept of photography as a powerful medium for storytelling. Both levels of the workshop place a strong emphasis on the narrative potential of photographs with a particular focus on their ability to convey meaning, intent, and emotional impact through storytelling. The workshop also aims to foster individual creativity by providing students with the experience of developing their own personal vision and creative perspective.
In Level 1, students learn to observe the world more intentionally, discovering how to communicate ideas, emotions, and stories through thoughtfully composed images.
In Level 2, they expand this understanding by developing cohesive photo series, exploring how multiple images can work together to express a unified narrative or concept.
programming
The goal of TUMO's programming course is to guide students through the intricate journey of mastering coding skills and help them bring their creative visions to life through the application of programming concepts. These workshops emphasize the development of problem-solving ability and how to develop efficient algorithms.
Level 1 of the course sends students on a hands-on exploration of basic programming concepts.
Level 2 allows students to dive deep into advanced programming techniques including OOP, matrices, and libraries.
robotics
The TUMO Robotics Workshop introduces students to robotics and smart systems through hands-on learning.
Level 1 covers microcontrollers, sensors, and coding, enabling students to build and program autonomous robots.
Level 2 advances into IoT, cloud integration, and smart automation, culminating in project-based solutions. This workshop equips students with essential robotics and automation skills, preparing them for AI-driven innovations.

Edi Rama
Prime Minister of Albania
“I want to humbly congratulate the founders of this program, AADF and TUMO, because I believe it is a model that manages to put together two things that seem very distant from each-other, children and technology…”
Mr. Michael Granoff
Chairman of the Board
"TUMO has the potential to become not only a program serving the need of the current generation but also the future ones. I am convinced that when we meet again, we will have the opportunity to deliver Albanians something that will be truly revolutionary, not only to reach their aspirations but also to compete in the world."
